Equal prize money, new course record prizes and SPOCO SE status for CC Sudbury Hilly Time Trial

CC Sudbury’s “Mad March Hilly” Open Time Trial takes place on Sunday 9th March, 2014. With equal prize money for men and women, a new sponsorship deal for course record prizes of up to £100, SPOCO SE and SPOCO E status, this year’s event promises be more popular and better than ever.

This 22 mile (35 km) event is run on the sporting circuit BS24/R course, starting and finishing in the beautiful medieval village of Lavenham, Suffolk. http://www.discoverlavenham.co.uk/

This course has a bit of everything, flat sections, drags, fast and slow corners, descents and climbs, so provides a good shake down for rider and machine at the start of the T.T. season.(See C.C. Sudbury website for map and gpx. of the course http://www.cycleclub…/events/open-10).

New for this year, the event has equal prize money for ladies and gentlemen (1st £25, 2nd £20, 3rd £15) alongside a team prize (£10 each) and fastest Junior prize (£10) all courtesy Lifecycle UK, Bildeston.

There are a series of generous course record prizes too, courtesy of new sponsor, Robins Row Insurance, Long Melford, including £100 for the person who can set a new overall course record (currently 00:49:42, Jason Bouttell-Team Velovelocity.co.uk) and £25 for the woman who can set a new Ladies’ course record (currently 1:00:19 Tonya Antonis – Team Velovelocity.co.uk).

Also this year, for the first time, the event is part of both the SPOCO E http://www.team-cambridge.co.uk/spocoeast/index.htm and SPOCO SE http://www.spoco-se.org.uk/ series for sporting T.T. courses.

The H.Q.’s at Lavenham Village Hall (CO10 9QT) are modern, spacious and conveniently located close to the start. Refreshments will be available here before and after the event. First rider is off at 08:00.
