Dean overhauled Mark Perry (Ride 24/7) in the last 10 metres, showing he can sprint as well as time trial after his credible placing in the National Time Trial Championships last month. Five laps of the challenging course put paid many of the riders, with more action at the back of the bunch than the front early on.

Several attempted to establish a winning break as the race settled. Craig Wallduck (Dream) and Daniel Guest (Performance Cycles) perhaps had the best attempt, leading into the penultimate lap with a 25 second gap on the bunch. The pair became a four with a 50 second gap at the bell, though it all came back together at the foot of the 2.5km finish climb up from Bourton. Dean timed his move perfectly, bringing an end to the run of Ride 24/7 victories in the Cotswold League

Malcolm Prince, past organiser of the legendary Tour of the Cotswolds race, presented the prizes.

The organiser wishes to express his heartfelt thanks to the volunteers of Cheltenham and County Cycling Club and from the British Cycling Accredited Marshal scheme for making the events happen.
