The Sheffield Hallam University GP is on Wednesday with a star studded line up for the Yorkshire event

Startlist: Sheffield Pro Crit Wednesday

British champion Ian Bibby heads up a star studded line up for the Sheffield Grand Prix pro crit on Wednesday sponsored by the Sheffield Hallam University. Bibby, winner of three prems this year and also the crit at Abergavenny, is just one of many favourites for the race.

A graduate of the University in Sheffield, Tom Stewart (winner of Velothon Wales, Lincoln GP and GP Of Wales in 2016) of Madison Genesis, more at home in a road race where he make full use of his diesel engine, has also won crits in the past and would no doubt love to get his hands in the air on home ground.

Thumbs up from Seb Mora involved in the crash with a car at GP of Wales on Sunday. He now leads the Elite Circuit Series

There are however many ‘home favourites’ including Russell Downing who won the bunch kick into Abergavenny on Sunday showing age is just number and experience counts for a lot! Graham Briggs, a former winner is another who loves this race.

Team Rwanda will be continuing their race program in British events whilst Raleigh GAC will also have an international line which has already made its mark in the series which they lead with World Champion Seb Mora who had a little tumble in the GP of Wales on Sunday but gave the thumbs up to being okay.

All the big teams have their riders there and yet to confirm their line ups but with the final domestic counting event for the Tour of Britain last weekend (only Ride London in two weeks is left) , it is expected the teams will all have full compliment of riders racing instead of ‘resting’ riders.

So expect a race full of fireworks as this is one that many a rider loves to win.
