Thanks to all the riders, officials and helpers for making this another successful edition of the Rutland CC Mam Nick Hill Climb. Conditions were mixed – intermittent rain with greasy and gritty sections, but a strong tailwind. Some of the rides were astonishing.

Patrick Clark (Team B38/Underpin) smashed last year’s record set by Chris Dyke with a 6:16.0 ride – no mean feat considering before Chris’s ride Peter Graham’s record time of 6:34.6 had stood since 1958! And Rebecca Goodson (Velo Schils Interbike RT) took almost 20 seconds off her own record with 7:42.2.

The vets competition was very close, Chris Osment (Matlock CC) was out in front with 7:15.7, but there was equal second for Pete Laud (Common Lane Occasionals) and Chris Edmondson (Velotik Racing Team).

Luke Hind (Team Jewson – MI Racing – Poly Pipe-McCann) showed he’s one to watch, winning the junior prize with 7:03.1, only missing the junior record by 6 seconds. A word also to Andy Nichols (Team B38/Underpin), who also beat the previous course record and helped his team to the team prize, with a record combined time of 19:38.2.
