No Tour of the Worlds in 2018 but there is hope that it will return in 2019 to the roads of Lincolnshire

News: No Tour of Wolds in 2018

In 2017 the Tour of the Wolds Cycle Race, part of the Spring Cup Series, was held for the first time and brought thousands of people to the streets of Louth. However, whilst great support was given by Magna Vitae and East Lindsay District Council, these events can only survive with private sector sponsorship and this proved extremely difficult to get agreement upon.

We jointly organised last year’s event but took over prime responsibility for the delivery in late 2017 and whilst considerable progress has been made, especially with the Lincoln Grand Prix, we have simply run out of time to make the Event work in Louth this year.

We have therefore taken the unfortunate decision to cancel the Tour of the Wolds races for this year. We apologise to the teams, who much enjoyed last year’s event, and to the people of Louth who came out and supported the event in its first year.

We are actively considering 2019 and hopefully with a longer lead-in time we will be able to get the sponsors required to make it a success. The Lincoln Grand Prix is unaffected by this decision and will take place on 13th May 2018
