Team News: Vision Racing looking for success in 2018

Vision Racing/Delamere Dairy/GRM Property Consultants/Swinnerton Cycles

Vision Racing, a Nantwich based Team sponsored by Delamere Dairy /GRM Property Consultants and Swinnerton Cycles are looking to build on their successful 2017 season. For 2018 season, the team will include five women riders and four male riders specialising in Time Trialling.

2017 was a particular successful season for the women’s team with Jayne Dickens winning a Gold medal in the National BC Masters road race in the 45-49 year old age group. Jayne followed this up by winning three National VTTA awards for 10.25.50 miles gaining a silver medal and two Gold.

Jayne competed throughout the season in the Manchester District Ladies Cycling Association (MDLCA) race series achieving 3rd position in the BEST ALL Rounder. Jayne says, “This year, I will be riding Time Trials and TLI road Races as well as focussing on the MDLCA series.”

Jayne manages to juggle her training with a full-time job and three children and says ”I’m always up for a challenge and the last three years I have been with the team have certainly been the most enjoyable ones.“

Claire Harrison, competing in her third season of time Trialling winning the first placed lady in the Cheshire points Series for the second consecutive year and coming second in the MDLCA Best All Rounder. Throughout the season, Claire has won many local events at 50 miles and is focussing on a 100 mile event in 2018.

Claire says “I’m excited and proud to be part of Vision Racing and looking forward to the new season and building on my success“. Sarah Grant in her first full season of competing in Time Trials and Road racing and says “What an exciting first season of racing I’ve had with Vision Racing in 2017.”

“I’m very proud to have won the Manchester and District Ladies Best All Rounder Trophy and the fastest 10-mile Trophy as well as the Wagstaff Award for best newcomer. I am so grateful for the support of my team manager Ian Middleton, our sponsors, and my team mates and looking forward to achieving more trophies in 2018.”

To strengthen the team for 2018, two new riders have joined the team. Sandra Chapman previously with Lyme RC who will focus on Time Trials and Molly Horsley-Frost previously with Buxton CC. Molly will ride time trials and road races.

Team Manager Ian Middleton says “Over the past four seasons the team has been developing and I am so proud of what they have achieved in 2017 and have demonstrated they have the potential to achieve greater results for themselves and the team.”

He adds “when I started the team in 2013, one of my goals was to establish a high performing Women’s team and another to give young rider opportunities to achieve success and develop their career up to another level which has been the case of Adam Robinson who is now riding for KTM.”

“What has been so important in the last four seasons though has been the 100% support from our sponsors Delamere Dairy a Specialist Dairy Company, GRM Property Consultants and Swinnerton Cycles.”
