REPORTS/RESULTS

3/4/Women’s race 40mins + 3 laps
An excellent turn-out of 39 riders for the first 3/4/W race of the year and, after a few skirmishes it was a large bunch that contested the sprint finish with local, Ian Rutherford (Lune RCC) winning by a wheel. Best of the 5 women starters was Brit Tate (GB Cycles)

E/1/2 race 1 hour + 5 laps
The organisers were pleased to see 28 riders start the E/1/2 race after this category race has been introduced for the first time due to local demand. It provided a very good race with attacking riding where a group of 9 eventually make a gap but it never looked secure with the chasing bunch just a few seconds behind.

At the end, ever aggressive James Gullen had a much deserved win by going for a long one and stringing the break out over the full length of the finish straight. James Dunlop made a bold solo effort from the bunch at the bell and caught the break whilst Julian Pearson was a length clear of the bunch sprint.
