Steve Douce, 49 was eight times National Cyclo-Cross Champion in the 80’s and 90’s. Race promoter Nick Jeggo said “It’s great to have a cyclo-cross legend like Steve riding the event. He hasn’t raced for sixteen years, so for him to make a return to competition at Blists Hill is a real honour”.

Steve is riding the event mainly for fun. Steve said “I was tempted because the event looks really interesting. Also, I’ve recently started coaching cyclo-cross, so I thought I’d better practice what I preach!”

The Queen Victoria Cyclo-Cross is backed by Henshalls Insurance Brokers and takes place at Blists Hill Victorian Town from 5pm on Saturday 31st August. For more details see www.queenviccx.moonfruit.com
