The project run by Mauro Pizzol will be supported by Velosport, Pasta Montegrappa and Aprire Bicycles Ltd. Mauro Pizzol and Pasta Montegrappa are not new to the British cycling scene, having partnered together in 2010 and 2011 for the Elite Men’s teams, Frezza – Pasta Montegrappa and Pasta Montegrappa – Zheroquadro, and Mauro having been the manager in 2013 of Les Filles RT.

Pasta Montegrappa is a major supplier of several British larger chain-stores and has been supporting professional cycling since the early nineties when it became title sponsor of Italian professional Team De Nardi – Pasta Montegrappa.
Radio Marsden, the charity radio station for the Royal Marsden Hospitals, will also partner the project. (www.radiomarsden.co.uk). The Team will focus on all major British races and several UCI European Tours including the Women’s Tour of Britain.

Part of the 2014 Team’s calendar is a period of racing and training in Italy, during which the Team will be based near Treviso in the beautiful Prosecco area, where Pasta Montegrappa are also based. Riders will be coached by CTA, a team of professional coaches that also coach riders such Marco Pinotti, Domenico Pozzovivo and Susanna Zorzi.

Mauro Pizzol, Team Manager “With so much excitement about British Women’s cycling, our long standing partner Pasta Montegrappa was pleased to become involved again. With Velosport and and Aprire Bicycles we also have the right level of support to make a real impression in British women’s cycling. I really look forward to 2014!”

The final line up of riders will be announced soon. More information about the team team can be requested by email to team@excel-sports-ltd.com and will soon appear on the Team’s website www.velosport-montegrappa.com and on our sponsors’ websites.
