Fresh from breaking the Team Pursuit world record at the recent National Track Championships, Elinor Barker, Dani King, Joanna Rowsell and Laura Trott will be joined by Scotland’s Katie Archibald to form the women’s endurance squad. Olympic gold medallists Ed Clancy and Steven Burke, along with Jon Dibben, Owain Doull, Sam Harrison and Andy Tennant make up the men’s endurance squad. Current two-time World Champion Becky James, Olympian Jess Varnish and Vicky Williamson will contest the women’s sprint events, whilst Olympic champions Jason Kenny and Phil Hindes will be joined by Matt Crampton and Kian Emadi in the men’s sprint squad.

Shane Sutton OBE, British Cycling’s Performance Manager, said: “The 2013/14 track season is now underway, and we are sending a full team out to Apeldoorn for the European Track Championships in preparation for the World Cup in Manchester just a couple of weeks after. It’s great to be able to welcome Katie Archibald to the team, and it’s testament to the programme that we are able to continue to develop and expand our squad and introduce talented new riders. It’s the start of the season, so we don’t know where we’re at compared to the rest of the world at this moment in time. However, we saw some strong results at the National Track Championships last week and we’re looking to be in good shape as a team so it will be interesting to see how that stands up against some international competition.”
