News: Winter Series in Bath

Over the winter of 2013/2014, the Bath cycling alliance will be promoting a winter race series at the newly completed Odd Down race circuit in Bath

This series is likely to be a 10 or 12 week race program run between 07/12/13 and mid to late February. This series is to be run on a weekly basis with races for cat 3, 4 youth A and B and subject to demand Women and Veterans.

It is anticipated that the Women and Veterans races will be run every other week with Women only RSR/coach led training session run in the gaps (run with women coaches).

In addition to this, the alliance will be running a weekly summer series on Tuesdays between May and September 2014 and this too will cover all categories including a dedicated women’s series.

This is all under discussion and in the planning stages at present however one thing is very evident – there is not a sufficient representation of local (regional) females in the planning process to deliver the correct package.

To ensure that needs are met and that correct audiences are targeted, the organisers would like to hear from ladies in the area who would like to assist in the organisation, structure and marketing of this series.
