News: Hats Off for Ringtons Velo Vintage Ride!

The 4th Ringtons Velo Vintage ride is on Saturday 7th December in Exmouth with over 100 riders already signed up.

The organisers, father and son Alistair & Sebastian Cope called in to see Emma Paver of Elegantly Waisted a vintage and retro shop in Exmouth. Emma is sponsoring the Best Dressed Lady competition and the gentlemen thought it was one of those hats off moments for Emma who braved the cold for a photo!

Hats Off – Taken on a chilly but sunny Saturday morning as Alistair (centre) and Sebastian (left) cycled around Exmouth promoting the ride. How could you miss them! Emma kindly stepped out of her shop on Exeter Road for a quick photo.

Alistair of Velo Vintage said “We want to encourage everyone who cycles to join us whatever the age of your bike; all that we ask is that you don’t wear Lycra.” Alistair continued, “We have such fun on these rides with cyclists from 8 to 80 years old and this one should be brilliant as we’re taking part in the Exmouth Christmas Cracker for a full day of entertainment”.

So if you fancy joining a cycle ride of a very relaxed nature, that involves, drinking tea, eating homemade cake, listening to music, warming up with the help of mulled cider and mince pies, taking part in all sorts of competitions from best dressed lady to best dressed bicycle and oh yes, cycling, then sign up now. We’re reliably informed that the ride is very relaxed, mostly flat and will be around 9 miles long. The cost is 15 Guineas (£15.75 in new money) that includes all of the above and more, but we couldn’t find out all of the details as Alistair & Sebastian said they like a few surprises.

Velo Vintage likes to work with local shops, sponsors and is supporting the local charity Headway Devon with a charity draw at the end of the ride to be held in The Grapevine free house in the centre of Exmouth.
