Crash in Elite race sees riders injured in the final round of the Springtime Pursuit on March 1st in Devon

Report: Springtime Pursuit 3

It was an eventful day for the organising team of the Springtime Pursuits in Devon with a heavy crash resulting in three or so riders being taken to hospital. Our best wishes to them. All the riders as far as we know have been discharged and are now home.

The winner of that event was Marcin Bialoblocki (Velosure/Giordana) by 38 secs from Peter Vincent (Mid-Devon CC) with Chris Jasper at 1.27 at the head of depleted bunch.

The ladies race ended in a four up sprint. The winner was Anniliese Heard (Starley Primal Pro Cycling) from Mary McFadzean (CS Dynamo), Ellie Campbell (Abergavenny RC) and Natalie Grinczer (Fusion Racing Team). Grinczer took the Women’s overall series.

Mark Greedy (Somerset Road Club) outsprinted, by the narrowest of margins, John Rollason with Jason Want, Penzance Wheelers third in the other race on the day.
