News: Jersey Tour Series Festival

The month of June features two events for cyclists and cycling spectators alike, that can be enjoyed in the warm sunshine of Jersey. The first is the final round of the sixth season of The Pearl Izumi Tour Series, Britain’s leading televised cycle race series. In 2014, the 10-city tour culminates in Jersey on Friday 13th June. This exciting team-based event will see the top teams battling it out for the right to be crowned the best cycling team in the country, as they contest both a hill climb and criterium around Gorey.

To coincide with the racing action, the Jersey Festival of Cycling takes place over the weekend of The Pearl Izumi Tour Series finale, on Friday 13th – Sunday 15th June. The festival hub is in the picturesque village of Gorey, with activities further afield for all ages and abilities – all to showcase the Island’s perfect cycling terrain and trails.

Additionally during the second day of the Festival of Cycling, amateur cyclists will have the chance to take part and ride either 50 or 100-kilometres as part of the Pearl Izumi Tour Ride Jersey Sportive, for which entries are open via the British Cycling online entry system.

Summers in Jersey offer a wealth of fun outdoor activities for all ages, including self-guided walking tours, boating, ‘blokarting’ (a combination of go-karting and windsurfing on land), kayaking, wakeboarding and paddling, or just relaxing on the beach with the entire family.
