A good competitive evenings racing with on form Alex Minting outpacing the senior A riders in three events and almost catching ‘breakaway rider’ Andy Hastings in the closing 10 mile with Andy making a lone attack in the final lap but hanging on by four bike lengths at the line.
Newcomer Alex Pierce won the 10 lap senior block handicap in his first meeting at Welwyn track
Youth A rider Josh Roberts won the Senior B points race from fellow youth A riders Mitch Powell. The Youth A riders promoted to the senior ranks have enlivened the racing and enjoyed the competition.
In the three youth category events – Bradley Clarke was on top form in the A series while Nathan Blackmore notched up two wins in the B category. Joe Kiely,Freya Butler and Sophie Lewis were the leading riders in the CDE series.
By request the next meeting will include a series of Madison events for the senior a riders
