Madison Genesis Team Manager Roger Hammond has decided on the squad of six riders with a wealth of experience and talent who have excelled this season to take on the eight stage race. This wasn’t an easy decision for Roger, who said: “It has been a luxury problem to have but to select the Tour of Britain team from such a strong squad has been a really difficult task”.

“Everybody has worked so hard to be in the best possible condition to take on the challenge of the biggest race in the UK. I feel we have a team that can be competitive on every stage of this year’s race, which I’m sure will make for an exciting week for Madison Genesis. I can’t wait!”

The Madison Genesis team for the 2014 Tour of Britain:

Mike Northey
An experienced Tour rider, Mike will surely be looking to grab points and time at this year’s event. As National Circuit Champion of New Zealand and after a phenomenal Pearl Izumi Tour Series, stage 1 and 8 of this year’s Tour of Britain should suit Mike perfectly.

Tom Scully
The formidable Kiwi, Tom is accustomed to winning both alone and in a bunch sprint. Consistency is key and Tom has it in abundance, as shown with his second place finish at the Rutland – Melton International CiCLE Classic earlier this year. A gold medal winner at the Commonwealth Games, Tom is looking to impress at this year’s Tour.

Alex Peters
Alex started this season with a win at the Tour of the Reservoir and has continued to impress throughout. His white jersey win at the An Post Rás is a highlight of his promising form, so Peters is certainly one to follow.

Liam Holohan
Liam’s attacking style will make him one to watch this year. Already with a few long breaks and solo wins under his belt, Liam will be looking to replicate his success at the last Tour of Britain and this year’s An Post Rás.

Tom Stewart
New to the team for 2014, and to the Tour of Britain, Tom has pulled out spectacular performances time and again. His huge engine makes him incredibly consistent and a stalwart of the pack.

Ian Bibby
An experienced Tour of Britain rider with some impressive stage results over the last few years, Ian will look to capitalise on his experience in this year’s race.
