News – Revolution Track Opens 2016
Revolution Series organisers have announced the dates for the 2015-16 season with six rounds of elite track cycling building up to the Track World Championships in London next year.
The season will begin on 15-16 August before continuing at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow on 24th October, Lee Valley VeloPark in London on 14th November leading to the final three rounds at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester on 28th November, 2nd and 23rd January 2016.
The opening round in August will provide the opportunity for riders to gain some important qualification points ahead of the UCI World Cups and will feature a male and female Omnium. Details of the venue will be announced in the next few weeks.
Face Partnership CEO and Revolution Series promoter, James Pope said: “We experienced record spectator and viewer numbers last season who enjoyed some excellent racing across the UK’s world class velodromes.â€
“We’ve planned to start the season earlier than usual this year as momentum builds towards the Worlds in London and then onto Rio 2016. The calendar of events has been planned with this in mind with the first round in August providing a good opportunity for riders to get important UCI qualification points ahead of the World Cup season.â€
Tickets go on sale from today (Monday 13th April) with initial priority access to Revolution customers who bought tickets last season. British Cycling members and fans who pre-register here can buy tickets from Monday 20th April. Tickets then go on general release on Friday 1st May.
