Moving up into a UCI team for 2016 is former Hill Climb Champion, the North Wests’s Jack Pullar of Pedal Heaven

Feature – Jack Pullar Q & A
1. When will you start your road season and what will be the first race?
Jack: My first race is usually Eddie Soens. This year it might be different and I may be doing Perfs Pedal depending on form and what the teams plans are. Will be nice to get a race or two in early doors!
2. What races will be your targets for 2016 and why?
Jack: For me, Lincoln GP has always been a firm favourite. I’ve lacked the endurance in the past, but with a new coach, team and the best support, I will be in the best possible shape for it. Also a Tour series round. Something with a short climb it in like Redditch.
3. How will you spend the time on the bike between now and your first race in training? Long miles or cutting back to do top end efforts?
Jack: I will leave the decision down to my coach! ;) I’d imagine it will be a combination of the two.
4. What was your favourite Xmas present?
Jack: A sound dock to play music. Helps the turbo sessions go by more quickly!

Hill climbing … Jack’s ‘thing’
5. When it rains, which its doing a lot right now, is it turbo time or wrap up and get wet?
Jack: I will always try my best to get out on the road. If it really is too bad then I’ll jump on the turbo and evaluate what I need to do. My tip to staying dry is its not going to happen so deal with it!
6. If you could do any race in the world including the best ones in the world etc, what would it be and why?
Jack: Probably the Ardennes Classics as the routes would suit my abilities.
7. What piece of food can you not do without where ever you are on the road during the season?
Jack: Weetabix mini’s, the chocolate ones!
8. What is your favourite music track when warming up for a race or on the turbo?
Jack: I don’t really listen to music warming up as I’m always worried I’ll miss the start..
9. If given the option, would you prefer normal brakes or disc brakes on your road bike?
Jack: Always rim brakes. I can see what they are trying to do, but for road bikes, I personally don’t think they are needed. They don’t particualy look great either. Kind of takes away the classic look of a road bike.
10. What’s the spec of your race bike for 2016 and your favourite bits on it?
Jack: I will be riding the Pedal Heaven’s team issue custom painted Specialized Tarmac SL4 frames with Dura Ace Groupsets, Edco Aero sport wheels and ceramic upgrades all round. Dreamy.
