Team News: Team Wiggins for 2019
British continental cycling team, Team WIGGINS Le Col has confirmed its full roster ahead of the new season.
The 12 rider team includes some of the best U-23 riders from around the world and is led by returning riders; prodigious British trio Mark Donovan (19), Tom Pidcock (19) and current U-23 GB National road race champion, Robert Scott (20).
Also returning for another season with the team are newly crowned New Zealand National road race champion James Fouché (20) and Irish U-23 time trial champion Michael O’Loughlin (21).
The team enjoyed it’s most successful season to date in 2018, which included multiple stage victories for Gabriel Cullaigh at Volta ao Alentejo and a stage win by Mark Donovan at Valle d’Aosta.
The latter also led the General Classification (after stage 7) at one of the most prestigious U-23 stage races on the calendar, the Girobio. Since the team’s inception in 2015, Team WIGGINS Le Col has quickly become known as one of the top development teams in world cycling with former riders Owain Doull, James Knox and Scott Davies all currently riding for World Tour teams.

“I am very proud of how the team has developed over the last few seasons. The bar gets higher and higher each year and the team’s results last season is testament to that. I am really looking forward to seeing riders like Mark, Tom and James compete for WIGGINS Le Col again this season combined with some of the new young talent we’ve added…it’s very exciting”: said Sir Bradley Wiggins, Team founder and Britain’s most decorated ever Olympian.
General Manager for Team WIGGINS Le Col, Andrew McQuaid, commented: “The vision over the last couple of seasons was to become one of the leading development teams in the sport and we are grateful to have the continued support of great sponsors like Pinarello, Le Col, SRAM, Zipp and Quarq who help us support that vision. We have a roster full with young ambitious talent again this season and I am excited for us to begin racing in February (Tour of Antalya 21st-24th).”
