Rain dampened the numbers attending week 3 of the Shrewsbury Sports Village Evening Races organised by Dave Mellor & Mid Shropshire Wheelers
![]() |
Rain through the day dampened the numbers attending but not the enthusiasm of the riders racing at the Shrewsbury Sports Village where spectators saw some thrilling racing.
This was especially so in the combined Youth A and B race where James Elmore and Ewan Grivell-Mellor provided a 1 – 2 for the promoting club backed up with a win in the Girls A race for Beth Coupland and Georgia Hilleard Wolverhampton Wheelers getting the better of MSW’s Ellie Russell for the Girls B race.
Hollie Owens rode away from the rest in the combined Boys and Girls C/D/E races for an emphatic win. Marcus Willday managed to get the better of Owen Lines from Stourbridge Velo in the 3rd and 4th category race and now moves up to 2nd category. The National Youth Series will be interesting with Owen showing fine form ahead of Saturdays CC Giro promotion at Curborough.
