The benefit that you gain from your winter training is dependent on how well planned your rides are. What common mistakes should you avoid? Always let someone know where you’re going and don’t bite off more than you can chew. Riding with a group is great as it gives you the added security of people to wait with if you have a mechanical, or a wheel to sit on if you blow. Pushing too hard one week could have a negative affect on your training the next week, so remember that winter training is about gradually increasing training load whilst enjoying cycling.
