Owain Doull is second in stage race Le Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux after top 10s on every stage

News – Owain Doull 2nd in France

Britain’s Owain Doull was second overall in the stage race Le Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux (UCI 2.2).

The four stage race which is part of the UCI European Tour was over 4 days with each stage 100 miles or less. Previous winners of the race including Doull in 2014 as well as pros Bob Jungels, Thomas De Gendt, and Tom Dououlin.

On twitter after the race Owain said of his race, “Triptyque done and dusted. Finished 2nd overall and won the points jersey. Not quite as good as last year but pleased with the legs.”

Doull, who had the chance to turn pro at the end of last season but stayed on with GB to go for a spot at Rio 2016, had a very consistent race with 4th on stage 1, 2nd Stage 2, 8th on stage 3 and 5th on stage 4.
