News: Worcestershire Wednesday Evening RR Series

First run off in 2017, The Worcestershire Wednesday Series of summer evening road races, organised under the rules and regulations of TLI Cycling, again takes place this year with 6 events taking place in June and July.

The Series was driven and put together in 2017 by Mike Amery of VC Sevele, with sponsorship from Echelon Cycles, who not only provided overall prizes for the series, but Tim Wood the owner also organised one of the races.

The races this year are organised by a group of 6 local clubs, again supported by Echelon Cycles, and each race will be 25-30 miles, on fairly flat courses. Open to all TLI Cycling members, there will be prizes for each race, and for the overall series, although to qualify for the overall prizes riders must marshal or help out at least one of the events, or at the minimum provided a volunteer to assist in marshalling.

The first event is organised by Jim Varnish of Team V-Sprint Racing on the 20th June, and is followed by:

27 June – Echelon Cycling Road Race – organised by Tim Wood
4 July – VC Sevale Road Race – organised by Mike Amery
11 July – The Graham Knowles Memorial Race – organised by John Poole of Team Echelon
18 July – Worcester St Johns Road Race – organised by Adrian Bird
25 July – Bush Healthcare Road Race – organised by Joe Rowe

The Worcestershire Wednesday Series is one of a number of such series of events throughout the UK supported by TLI Cycling and we plan to feature other such events during the weeks to come.
