News: Durrell Re-signs for Drops

Drops are pleased to announce that Rebecca Durrell will continue to ride for the team next season. With another extensive calendar year ahead, the 28-year-old is looking to develop her UCI experience next season and match her fantastic domestic results on the world stage.

“I’m personally aiming to improve all aspects of my performance to give myself and the team the best chances of gaining some more solid results next season,” Rebecca said. “I’ve learned a lot about myself as a rider this season, so I’m looking forward to working hard over winter and putting it into practice when the racing restarts next spring. “We’re all super motivated to build upon our inaugural season so I’m most looking forward to seeing how much further we can progress in our second year”.

Rebecca is a key figure in the Drops squad and is a naturally positive influence on all the riders in the team. “It was clear from the very beginning that we would become a tight knit team,” she explained. “We’re all extremely driven and competitive individuals, but each one of us is also a team player – there’s a total mix of ages, backgrounds and interests but it somehow works really well.

“As riders, we have been given the opportunity to race a full domestic and international calendar which has undoubtedly helped us take more steps towards our potential. That, together with a great group of people, makes Drops a special team to be a part of.”

Team Director, Tom Varney commented “Becks epitomises the type of rider we set out to have on the team and having her continue her development with the team is fantastic. We said from the beginning that giving riders a second year racing at UCI level will give them an additional boost. To go into the races knowing what the race will be like, of course is a great advantage.” The whole team are looking forward to having Rebecca back on the bike representing Drops in the peloton once again.
