The team Inflite Type one are the UKs only Type1 diabetic specific mutli discipline team to spread awareness nationally and beyond. Their aim is to spread awareness nationally and beyond, provide as well as provide a platform and community for Type1 diabetics that simply hasn’t been in this space before.

Andrew Kerr, the founder of INFLITE TYPE ONE, launched the team earlier this year and has been networking within the Type1 community to gather interest and members. “We are now up to around 85 members nationwide” Andrew explains.  “Some of these members are over seas and we now have an established leadership team to bring something completely fresh and unique to the UK scene”.

“We have created a space where we all share information and past experiences. This is proving really successful within our exclusive whatsapp group. We hold zoom calls every two weeks where we share some valuable information on tips and tricks for better Type1 management, discuss other topics and Q&A sections. We hold a weekly Zwift TT and are planning some meet ups in the real world very soon”.

Asked why they launched the team, Andrew says “There is a massive gap in the UK for Type1 diabetics that exercise at any level. The most notable reference most type1 cyclists will have is Team NOVO NORDISK, which is a UCI team. We believe that we are filing the gap now for all Type1 diabetics to show case what is possible living with Type1 diabetes and to really spread awareness at domestic level. We are just getting started and are super excited to grow and to help others and develop”.

The team’s future goals include to have the first UK Type 1 diabetic team at the Nationals and to impact as many other Type1 diabetics lives as possible
