Preview: Tour of the Mining Valleys

Sunday 5th March will see the excitement of an early season road race coming to Aberystwyth, with the Tour of the Mining Valleys, organised by Gareth Lewis on behalf of Ystwyth CC, again returning to the scenic roads inland of the town.

The category E/1/2/3 race reached full complement weeks ago, and with riders from all over the UK travelling to Aberystwyth it is a great opportunity for local cycling enthusiasts and the wider public to enjoy elite racing on our doorstep.

The 75-mile course will see riders completing four laps of a loop comprising Southgate, Llanfarian, Llanilar, Trawscoed and New Cross before a finishing route which takes in Llanafan Saw Mills, Pontrhydygroes, Devil’s Bridge, Pisgah, Capel Seion and Moriah.

As well as local rider Daniel Davies the starting line-up features prominent team riders Liam Holohan, Rhys Lloyd and Zach May of Metaltek-Kuota, Ed Laverack of JLT Condor and Steven Roach and Jacob Tipper of Brother NRG DriverPlan.
