BMCR Result: La Classicissima (Redbridge, NE London)

Region 9’s La Classicissima (Volunteers Race) was a great demonstration of a what can happen when a group of BMCR racers not from the same clubs get together to put on a race. Chapeau to Valentino Fontana for promoting this great event and big ups to all the racers who helped support the race.

The E/F/G/H+Women started at 9.30am with a field of 22 riders including two ladies. E Cat Paul James didn’t hang about and pretty much went from the gun. In fact he stayed away to win the race 🥇🔥. Andrew Bates(2nd), Julian Niles Cunnington (3rd completed the podium both guys having initially formed a 3 man chase group with Lee Rowe in 5th. Jayne Payne jumped away from the bunch to grab 4th spot and 1st lady

In the A/B/C/D Race a six man winning break formed within the first few laps. It featured Matt Holmes, Daniel Dale, Cormac Bryce Richard Norris, Mark Smith Jess Harding. Mark Smith missed the groups initial split from the bunch but bridged across after impressively chasing for more than 20 minutes.

Andy Hastings was also part of the break until he later punctured. The break stayed together and was won in a sprint by Matt Holmes 🥇 followed in by…Daniel Dale 🥈 Cormac Bryce 🥉 Richard Norris, Mark Smith Jess Harding. 7th and 8th went to Neil Pearson and Marco Coppola who formed a second break later on in the race. Duncan Rimmer took the bunch sprint

Once again thank to all those that came out and supported the race 👏😎
