Leading riders in the National Trophy took a break from the Series to compete for rainbow jerseys at the UCI World Masters Cyclo-Cross Championships in Gossau (Switzerland) on Jan 3/4)

British Riders Storm to Five Victories at Masters World Cyclo-Cross Champs

At the Masters World Cyclo-Cross Championships held over the weekend 3/4 January, 2015 near Zurich, Switzerland, British riders won 5 Gold medals, a Silver and a Bronze in their respective age categories.

Gold Medals were won by, Phil Roach (50-54yr), Steve Davies (55-59yr), Dave McMullen(60-64yr), Vic Barnett(70-74yr) and Mick Ives(75+yr). Roy Hunt took Silver(60-64yr) and John Ginley Bronze(70-74yr).

In the 50-54yr group Pete Busby was 23rd. Andy Roberts took 5th, and David Hamilton 15th in the 60-64yr race, Pete Mooney took 5th in 65-69yr race. The event was held in very tough conditions with cold rain and melting snow making for epic racing in all categories.
